Get a quick impression of Amsterdam in just 1 day
This tour is meant for those who would like to get a quick first impression of the history, scenery and architecture of Amsterdam in a relatively short time. It includes a boattour of the canals, a not too long visit of the Museum of the History of Amsterdam to get a brief overview of its historical development and to come face-to-face with some authentic 17th masterpieces of paintings plus a not too long guided walking tour of an interesting part of the nearby historic center of the city. In between we will have a break for lunch. Total length of the tour including the lunch and transfers will be 6 to 7 hours. Maximum group size is 4 guests. In case you are with more than 4 only the museum and boattour can be done.
As long as your hotel is in the center i will pick you up at your hotel. Over the years this turns out to be the best and easiest way to meet up. Otherwise pick up at the central railway station, any other location in central Amsterdam including museums, public transport stops, other points of interest or the airport in case you have a lay-over is possible as well.
In case your hotel is in the center and you are capable of walking for at least 30 minutes without breaks i could do a small tour walking from your hotel to the historic Museum. The city center is full of monumental buildings, so it’s a great way to get to see things on the way! In case 30 minutes walking is too much for you i will arrange a taxi.
It’s important to stress that the historic center of Amsterdam is hard to explore by car or minivan. Many roads are narrow, one-ways or closed for cars. So moving around by bike, rickshaw, boat or just on foot are the better options.
In case walking is very hard for you we have the option to do a tour by biketaxi or rickshaw in addition to a boattour. This is only possible for the same price for couples as more rickshaws require me to hire colleagues. In case of a rickshawtour instead of a guided pedestrian tour i won’t join you for lunch as i will need time to get the rickshaw from my garage outside of the center.
I only do privately guided tours, so there won’t be others than you and your companions and me joining us! Please feel free to ask all the questions you might have about Amsterdam!

Price for this standardized 1-day Get a first impression of Amsterdam Tour is 250 euro exclusive of the entrance fee of the museum (15 euro per guest), tickets for the boattour (13 euro per person) and optional costs of a taxi ride (between 15 and 20 euro for most rides in and around the center).
