SIGHTSEEING TOURS OF AMSTERDAM
Amsterdam is a paradise of architecture as you might have seen already on my website. There are hundreds of authentic monumental buildings in various styles and from a wide range of periods. So a sightseeing tour of Amsterdam is absolutely a great idea!
There are many ways to do sightseeing tours of Amsterdam; by boat, by bike, walking, by rickshaw, by minivan. It’s very important to realize that doing a sightseeing tour by coach is a bad idea in Amsterdam as 90% of the scenic spots can not be reached by coach. These sites are located along narrow one-way roads along canals or are simply not accessible for large buses. As parking and stopping on the narrow roads is complicated because the vehicle might block the road a tour by minivan without walking isn’t a really great idea either. To make the story short; the mode of transport for your sightseeing tour of Amsterdam is important!
The better options are boattours, pedestrian tours, combinations of boattours with tours on foot, bike tours and rickshawtours. Boattours do have the advantage that they don’t require walking but not all sites will be passed by. For tours by walking you need to be able to walk considerable distances, count on 1 hour walking without many breaks at least. Biketours require you are confident riding one. Rickshawtours are a relaxed and convenient option, but the number of guests is limited to 2 per rickshaw. In case you are with more people the price might become considerably higher because several drivers will have to be hired.
My advice: think well about the way you would like to do the sightseeing!
